Why Eddie Roche?

I’m sure most of you have asked themselves, “Who is this Eddie Roche guy and why should I care?” Don’t think I’m upset about that. One of the first things you need when making a film, whether it’s a thriller, drama, action movie, or in our case, documentary, is a good story. For example, there are several documentaries about plants, but how many of you care?

So why care about Eddie Roche? Well, as I mentioned in This Book Doesn’t Have a Cover and Scott expanded on in Eddie Roche: A For Reals Shot Caller, Eddie is not only a great person but this guy has ENERGY. Not just your normal, over-caffeinated, frat-boy energy, but pure and true hustler energy. He gets shit done and motivates the rest of us to do the same.

Then you hear his story, you hear where he came from and you see who he became as a result and you think to yourself, “Wow.” Eddie personifies the meaning of ‘The American Dream’ by living it every day of his life. He proves that no matter who you are or where you come from, if you set out to do something with all your heart and soul then you can achieve it.

I must admit I was pretty nervous because I don’t like to go into a situation unprepared but I also like new and challenging things so off I went. As I walked up the drive way with Jacqui, Eddie was walking out and we were introduced. I felt comfortable right away and looked forward to learning more about this project. [...]
